Latar Belakang Pendidikan yang wajib dimiliki oleh pemohon untuk tingkatan Sarjana ( S 1 ) adalah pendidikan dibidang komputer dan telah mengambil mata kuliah berikut selama kuliah di bidang komputer / IT dan wajib memiliki pengalaman kerja dibidang IT selama minimal 12 bulan . Umumnya Australian Computer Society lebih menghargai lulusan yang memiliki pengalaman kerja 4 tahun di bidangnya. Mata Kuliah yang harus pernah dipelajari oleh lulusan S 1 dari jurusan Teknologi Informasi adalah :

Latar Belakang Pendidikan yang wajib dimiliki oleh pemohon untuk tingkatan pendidikan D III (Diploma) adalah pendidikan dibidang komputer dan telah mengambil mata kuliah berikut selama kuliah di bidang komputer / teknologi informasi serta wajib memiliki pengalaman kerja selama minimal 6 tahun dibidang teknologi informasi.

Mata kuliah yang harus dipelajari oleh lulusan Diploma dari jurusan Teknologi Informasi adalah :

• Computing (Network Systems)


Ahli Teknologi Informasi yang bukan lulusan dari jurusan Teknologi Informasi

Untuk yang bukan lulusan dari Teknologi Informasi namun memiliki keahlian dibidang IT dan bekerja di bidang Teknologi Informasi termasuk dalam RPL Category
RPL Category: adalah kepanjangan dari Recognition of Prior Learning dan umumnya membutuhkan syarat 6 tahun pengalaman di bidang Teknologi Informasi dan dapat dibuktikan melalui sertifikat dan referensi kerja serta proyek yang pernah dikerjakan . Selain pengalaman , juga dibutuhkan uji atas kemampuan teori .
Ada 14 mata ujian yang diuji oleh Australian Computer Society ( ACS ) yang
terdiri dari :

1. Computer Organisation and Architecture - The basics of computing systems
2. Conceptual Modelling - relational data models
3. Database Management - data needs, functions, languages and admin
4 .Data Communications & Networks-design, implementation & management of data  networks
5. Data Structures and Algorithms - storage and manipulation of data and algorithm design
6. Discrete Mathematics - computer arithmetic logic, Boolean algebra, graphic and metric theory
7. ** Ethical/Social Implications/Professional Practice - I.T social, global, technical, ethical and professional issues
8. ** Interpersonal Communications - communicating technical concepts to clients and colleagues
9. Program Design and Implementation - from design to solutions implementation
10. ** Project Management and Quality Assurance - product and process issues in quality control
11. Security - social, government, legal, and technical, I.T privacy issues
12. Software Engineering and Methodologies - software development models, processes, analysis, specs, design and software tools
